Per gli appassionati di serie TV inglesi si è svolta la consegna dei BAFTA Television Awards ieri sera a Londra; campioni di quest’anno sono “Wolf Hall”, “This Is England ‘90” e “Peter Kay’s Car Share”.

BAFTA Television Awards: “Wolf Hall” trionfa

Vincitore del premio come miglior serie TV e attore protagonista a Mark Rylance è “Wolf Hall”, miniserie di sei puntate diretta da Peter Kosminsky e sceneggiata da Peter Straughan, trasposizione cinematografica dei romanzi “Wolf Hall” e “Bring Up the Bodies” di Hilary Mantel. La serie segue l’ascesa di Thomas Cromwell alla corte di Enrico VII d’Inghilterra che entra nelle grazie del Re riuscendo a fargli ottenere il divorzio da Caterina d’Aragona; la storia si chiude con la morte di Tommaso Moro. Mark Rylance, già vincitore del premio Oscar come Miglior Attore Non Protagonista per “Il ponte delle spie”, porta a casa anche quest’altro premio e lo vedremo prossimamente diretto ancora una volta da Steven Spielberg in “Il GGG – Il grande gigante gentile”.

Vince il premio come miglior attrice protagonista Suranne Jones in “Doctor Foster”, serie TV in cui dramma e mistero si fondono per raccontare la vita della dottoressa Gemma Foster che, nell’indagare per scoprire se il marito la tradisce, si imbatte in un segreto che la cambierà drasticamente.

La cerimonia di consegna dei BAFTA Television Awards è stata presentata da Graham Norton ed oltre ai premi ‘classici’ è stato consegnato il Riconoscimento Speciale in Onore di Alan Clarke al comico Lenny Henry per il suo contributo al mondo televisivo in più di quarant’anni di carriera.
